Rickenbacker 660

The Maple cutaway body of the Model 660 and 660/12 is based on an innovative design from the 1950s. The Rosewood fingerboard is tastefully accented with triangular pearloid inlay marks, and the maple double bound neck and body are sturdy throughout. Rickenbacker’s signature “checkered” black and white binding accents the body, and white binding accents the neck. The 660 is electronically engineered to the vintage reissue series’ rigorous standards, including with Rickenbacker’s own vintage reissue-type pickups.

Rickenbacker 660 Guitar For Sale

The Rickenbacker 660 is a premium grade instrument designed by some of the world’s best guitar builders utilizing only the finest materials. With a maple cutaway body and a neck-through maple construction, you’ll have a comfortable, long-lasting playing experience.

The Rickenbacker 660 is based on an original design from the 1950s and features twin vintage coil toaster top pickups that give a bright, clear, and warm tone suitable for any style.

Aside from sound, a slew of aesthetic trimmings make this instrument a genuinely one-of-a-kind experience, both acoustically and visually. This is evident in the eye-catching, chequered black and white binding and the iconic Jetglo gloss.

The Rickenbacker 660 is the ideal choice for any musician wishing to add rich, expressive tones and greater sustain to their performance, as well as a look that will stand out on any stage, thanks to its magnificent looks and wholly unique visual design.

Charactered maple body

The Rickenbacker 660 Semi Acoustic Guitar is made of charactered maple and fashioned into a distinct and unique design to create a fashionable instrument. This exquisite maple body produces a very textured and clear tone with plenty of warmth, brightening up the top end and tightening out the lows.

Along with its natural tone, this guitar’s attractive curved form keeps the body lightweight, allowing pleasant playability as well as increased access to the higher frets.

The 660 is distinguished by Rickenbacker’s renowned Jetglo wrap, as well as a typical chequered white binding and gold pickguard. Pearloid triangular inlays, Gotoh vintage-style tuners, and five control knobs provide further creative tonal flexibility.

Neck-through maple neck

The Rickenbacker 660 has a rosewood fingerboard linked to a maple neck for added stability and a clean visual design. The neck-through structure provides an exceptional degree of sustain. This neck-through design eliminates the need for a guitar heel and allows easier access to the higher frets because to its slim, sleek form and superb low action.

Furthermore, the neck of the guitar generates a tight and warm tone, with the maple providing a quick attack with blazing highs and strong lows. Rosewood helps to maintain the tone moderate by adding sparkle to the highs and thickening up the lows.

Another advantage of this neck design is that it allows the guitar to stay in tune for extended periods of time, minimizing the need to frequently re-tune during performances.

Toaster-top pickups

The Rickenbacker 660 is electronically engineered to the precise specifications of the classic reissue series, including the toaster top pickups for maximum authenticity. This pair of antique single coil toaster top pickups produces a bright, clear, and slightly deep Rickenbacker jangly tone.

Each pickup has six separate Alnico magnets positioned vertically inside the coil to produce that vintage sound. Their characteristic chime fits nicely in any arrangement and is an excellent choice for guitarists that love a jangly tone.
