Slash — a brief biography

Slash is best known for his work with the hard rock band Guns N’ Roses in the late 1980s, and he has gained a well-deserved reputation as one of rock’s premier guitarists.

Slash was named the runner-up on Time magazine’s list of “The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players” in 2009, and No. 65 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” in 2011.

Slash has garnered acclaim for his side project, Slash’s Snakepit, and as a member of the supergroup Velvet Revolver, in addition to his immense success with Guns N’ Roses.

He has four solo albums to his credit, as well as three with his band, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Slash got one of rock music’s highest distinctions in 2012, when he and his Guns N’ Roses colleagues were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
