Gibson’s SG Standard 61 with the distinctive sideways-pull Maestro Vibrola tailpiece revives a well-loved electric guitar design with a return to its roots. This tailpiece, used on the very first 1960s models, provides smooth and subtle vibrato effects to the traditional SG design. The body is made of mahogany and has a beautifully sculpted body scarfng, a 5-ply teardrop pickguard, and a 22nd-fret neck joint.

In addition to the sideways Vibrola Tailpiece, the nickel-plated hardware includes a traditional ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge and keystone tuners. The pickups are 61R and 61T humbuckers, which provide a classic tone with enhanced power and top end. Audio taper potentiometers and orange drop capacitors are used as controls.
